Biography:
Patricia Jackson is Of Counsel and Chair of the Tax Practice Group at Higgs & Johnson. She is also a member of the Litigation and Government & Regulatory Affairs practice groups of the firm. With over 20 years of experience as an attorney, 15 of which as tax counsel, she possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the tax legislative framework. Patricia advises clients on a broad range of tax matters, including Domestic Minimum Top-Up Tax and other international tax matters, complex VAT and corporate tax issues and tax considerations in mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations. Patricia also represents clients in tax disputes against the tax authority.
Having served as a senior tax advisor to the Government, Patricia has been instrumental in the drafting of various tax legislation in The Bahamas. She has provided legal counsel on tax audits and investigations and successfully litigated cases involving a wide array of tax issues in The Bahamas and Jamaica.
