Biography:
Muhammad Furqan, ACA, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). He has assisted Mr. Ashfaq Tola in delivering presentations to IMF and World Bank teams on behalf of Pakistan’s Tax Reforms Commission on the subject matter of single stage sales tax.
He has been the head of the Karachi Branch of Tola Associates since its inception. He has been a member of ICAP’s committee on fiscal laws since 2018, and a part of the coordination committee for 2020 which presented budget proposals to the Federal Board of Revenue on behalf of ICAP.
He has also been part of panel discussions as a panelist on the subjects of budgetary amendments, return filings, and non-resident taxation. Mr. Furqan has rich experience and knowledge of Pakistan’s taxation laws and international taxation.
He has also been the managing editor of the monthly newsletter, Tax Pak, since its inception.
