Biography:
John is Tax Partner, Sheltons-SITTI at the Sheltons Group, which specialises in international tax advice, tax planning, accounting and corporate services, and international tax courses. The Sheltons Group has offices in Denmark, Australia, Cyprus and Malta. John has 25 years experience in international taxation and tax planning, including eight years in Structured Finance with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney and Malta. He has also worked with Baker and McKenzie in Melbourne, KPMG and Arthur Andersen in Hong Kong.
John is the author of Tolley's International Taxation of Upstream Oil and Gas, and Tolley's International Taxation of Corporate Finance, published by LexisNexis UK in 2014.
John is a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Taxation Institute of Australia. qualifications include Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide, and Master of Laws from Monash University. Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia, and a member of International Fiscal Association.
Specialities are international tax planning and tax risk management, including oil and gas taxation, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer pricing. He has extensive experience with cross border structured finance with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and presented international tax courses in London, Aberdeen, Jersey, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Zurich, Lugano, Warsaw, Limassol, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Houston.
