Biography:

James has a general Chancery practice extending to drafting, litigation and advice in all of Chambers' core disciplines. He has particular expertise in private client work and advises on wills and estate administration, personal taxation, Court of Protection matters and contentious trust and inheritance claims.

James has developed a busy litigation practice and has recently appeared in a number of high-value trust and probate disputes in the High Court both as sole counsel and as part of a team. As an advocate he has also undertaken property, insolvency and commercial litigation in the High Court and the County Court.

James regularly gives talks on private client matters and has recently presented seminars on family trusts, inheritance tax, intestate succession, offshore trusts, the equitable doctrine of mistake and tax planning in the Court of Protection.
