    Biography:

    Michael is an independent consultant with more than 30 years’ experience. He focuses on transparency, anti-corruption and good governance issues. He is also a political risk and stakeholder engagement expert with a focus on the Middle East. His book on Gaza will be published in the near future. He has worked for Middle East Broadcasting Centre, Control Risks Group, the Eurasia Group and for the international gas company BG Group as an international government relations manager in Egypt, Oman and Gaza. At BG Group, he was also responsible for the transparency agenda, especially the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI). He has also lived, worked and travelled extensively in the Middle East, advising companies on assessing and mitigating political risk in the region. Michael studied Arabic at the University of Edinburgh where he gained an MA (Hons).

    He is a recognised expert in beneficial ownership disclosure and provides technical assistance to governments and government agencies introducing measures to tackle corruption, money laundering and other financial crimes, and has worked with jurisdictions across four continents. In collaboration with Tim Law, he co-developed the BO6 framework for the design and implementation of beneficial ownership reporting regimes. He is an expert to the Council of Europe Economic Crime and Cooperation Division and the EU AML/CFT Global Facility and has been a member of the B20 Integrity and Compliance Taskforce. He has also delivered projects funded by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

    Mr. Sampath Munasinghe FTII, CTA. He is a Fellow member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Taxation and Chartered Tax Advisor (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka). He is experienced in tax planning and tax administration, preparation of personal, corporate, and other entities tax returns and computations.     Biography:

    Lynne is an expert in personal taxation with over 15 years' experience. Lynne joined Tolley from BDO, where she worked in the private client team and the national tax training department, having previously worked for Grant Thornton and Arthur Andersen.

    Whilst in practice, Lynne handled compliance and planning matters including entrepreneurs' relief planning, capital gains tax deferral, non-domicile planning, estate planning and corporate restructuring for inheritance tax.

    As well as being the in-house writer for the Personal Tax module of TolleyGuidance, Lynne has written for Taxation, Tax Adviser and Taxwise I and is a tutor for Tolley Exam Training. She is also a former Chairman of the ATT/CIOT London branch.

    Biography:

    Charlotte is a member of Ten Old Square Chambers. She has a general Chancery practice, with a focus on non-contentious private client matters.

    She has particular experience in advising on trusts and associated taxation, wills, probate and the administration of estates. She is adept at drafting deeds and other trust documents.

    Charlotte recently spent six months seconded to the private client department of a major City law firm. Whilst there, she advised on the full spectrum of private client practice. She gained particular expertise in international private client taxation, trust administration and probate matters.

    Charlotte was awarded a first class degree in History from the Queen's College at the University of Oxford. She went on to gain a Distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law and an Outstanding in the Bar Professional Training Course. She was awarded the Benefactors' Prize by the Queen's College and a Major Scholarship from the Inner Temple.

    She is a member of the Chancery Bar Association, a committee member of the Junior Chancery Bar Association and an associate member of STEP.

    Erika Jupe is a partner in the corporate tax team at Osborne Clarke LLP where she heads the International Tax Group. She advises on a wide range of cross-border corporate tax issues, with a particular emphasis on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate finance and has a particular interest in the tax issues flowing from digital business.

    Erika qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and joined Osborne Clarke in 1997. She became a partner in 1998.

    After studying accountancy at the LSE, Roderick changed to the law and became a solicitor, and, until 1996, headed pension and employment law in the corporate/commercial firm KJD in Stoke-on-Trent, as the only pension law solicitor between Birmingham and Manchester. In that year he started his sole practice from home, specialising in pensions, largely helping other solicitors when they have pension law problems and need a specialist on their team or to whom to refer their clients. Roderick also contributes to New Law Journal and other LexisNexis publications. His leisure time is split between gardening, old cars and reading and writing.
