Meet the Team
Chris Jones

Chris Jones

Chris joined LexisNexis in 2003 and has been instrumental in developing the CPD and exam training businesses. As Director of Tax & Accountancy he was responsible for designing and creating TolleyGuidance.

Chris is an acclaimed and prolific lecturer and writer on taxation issues and has gained a reputation as being among the best in his field. He continues to practice and advises clients on tax planning and compliance.  

Chris is a member of the Councils of The Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Association of Taxation Technicians.

Rebecca Benneyworth

Rebecca Benneyworth

Rebecca is a lecturer, writer and consultant on a variety of taxes. She lectures throughout the UK for a range of commercial providers and professional bodies, and has presented a session to Treasury & HMRC policy teams on the impact of current tax developments on smaller businesses. 

Rebecca is well known on the lecture circuit for her down to earth approach to tax, and ability to make the subject matter both clear and interesting, and was named Best Tax Lecturer at the Taxation awards in 2007. She also has an interest in all issues affecting smaller practices and their clients, and is a member of the ICAEW Tax Faculty committee. She writes regularly on tax for a range of publications and is Tax Editor of AccountingWEB.co.uk and General editor of Tolley’s Taxwise books.

 

Tim Good

One of the founding partners of The Professional Training Partnership, Tim is also a director of PTP Ltd, PTP Interactive Ltd and Absolute Accounting Software Ltd and is Chairman of The Tax Club. Tim is one of the most prolific lecturers on the post-qualified tax lecture circuit and lectures several times each week to professional audiences all over the country. He has the ability to make even the most obscure tax point crystal clear and the most mundane topic entertaining and informative.

Tim writes regularly for various professional publishers and is the author of three chapters in Tolley's Tax Planning. Tim is a past member of the Editorial Board of the Tax Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is also the editor and publisher of PTP's monthly Professional Tax Update.

Malcolm Greenbaum

Malcolm Greenbaum

Malcolm qualified as a Chartered Accountant  in 1989 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1995 winning the John Wood Medal for the best paper on Business Taxation. He was with BPP for 18 years where he lectured on financial accounting and tax and set up BPP Luton. In 2004 he moved to the Professional Development division of BPP and was appointed Head of Finance and Tax Programmes.

In 2008 Malcolm left and set up his own training and consultancy company. He continues to design and deliver accounting and tax programmes to accounting firms, law firms and clients across a wide range of industries including financial services, airlines and oil and gas. He is passionate about training and his enthusiasm ensures that participants enjoy the learning experience.

 
Robert Jamieson

Robert Jamieson

Robert joined Cooper Brothers & Co and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972. He moved to Financial Training where he ran their specialist tax course and tax consultancy divisions. He passed the ATII examination in 1979 and received his FTII (now CTA (Fellow)) in 1984 for a thesis on family companies.

After 20 years with Financial Training, Robert returned to full-time practice and became a partner in Adam Broke & Co. This firm merged with Mercer & Hole in 2001 where he continues to be a partner. Outside his work, Robert joined the Council of The Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1993 and became their President in May 1999. In addition, he has been on the Editorial Board of the weekly magazine ‘Taxation’ since 1990 and, in 2007, he joined the Editorial Board of ‘Simon’s’.  He has written and contributed to a number of other pieces and became a member of STEP last year.

Guy Loveday

Guy Loveday

Guy is a director of PTP ltd. He is joint author of Butterworth's Financial Reporting and Accounting Service and a member of the lecturing panels for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. He specialises in Auditing and Financial Reporting updates for accountants in practice and industry, and in Finance courses for members of the wider financial community. He also provides a consultancy service to assist companies in preparing their annual financial statements.

 

 
Giles Mooney

Giles Mooney

Giles Mooney is the Managing Director of PTP Limited and a Partner in PTP. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, he has been involved in UK tax training for over 10 years. He has written for a number of publications on various UK tax and business issues including writing PTP’s own monthly publication – Professional Tax Update. Giles entertains and educates professionals several days each week running tax seminars throughout the country.

Robert Trunchion

Robert Trunchion

Robert is a Tax Principal with MacIntyre Hudson LLP and is one of their tax lecturers. After service in the Royal Navy, Bob qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand where he specialised in Corporate Taxes. On moving to MacIntyre Hudson, he broadened his scope to deal with all types of taxation. He has a wide range of tax knowledge and lectures on a range of subjects including the tax implications of buying and selling companies, capital tax planning, trusts and share valuation work. He is also specialist in a number of industries or niches such as solicitors, farmers and the medical profession and on the professional indemnity insurance aspects of tax work.

 
Neil Warren

Neil Warren

Neil started working in VAT in 1983 – he spent 14 years as an inspector in HM Customs and Excise before setting up his own tax and accounting practice in 1997.

During the last fourteen years, he has been the main VAT consultant for a number of small and medium sized accountancy practices in the south east of England. He has developed a reputation for being able to simplify complex VAT problems, giving straightforward advice in plain English.

As well as VAT consultancy work, Neil also writes on VAT for most of the leading tax publications in the UK – including Taxation, TaxLine, Tax Adviser, Tolley’s Practical VAT Newsletter and CCH VAT News. His articles focus on practical topics of interest to the general practitioner – with clear solutions and advice on everyday problems. He was the winner of the prestigious 2008 Taxation Awards Tax Writer of the Year competition, having been a finalist in 2007.

Neil is also the author of Tolley’s annual VAT Planning book 2011/12 edition and wrote much of the VAT module for the Tolley Guidance. He is a member of the VAT Technical Committee of the ATT. He also acts as a technical expert for publishers on VAT related issues and has been closely involved with HMRC on a number of VAT policy issues, particularly relating to the flat rate scheme.  

Neil first started teaching and lecturing while in Customs and Excise – he was a VAT trainer for five years from 1988 to 1992. He was a part-time lecturer at Barnfield College in Luton for five years, and freelance lecturer for BPP. He now lectures exclusively on VAT, working for institutes and course providers throughout the UK.

Dean Wootten

Dean Wootten

Dean is Managing Director of Online Tutors Limited and Online Tutors Publications Limited. These companies developed Tolley's Tax Tutor and the material for all their ATT, CTA and AIIT training.

Dean started his career as a Chartered Accountant, he has extensive practical experience, which he is able to introduce when lecturing to students and professionals alike. He has been involved in tax training since 1994 and specialises in lecturing CTA students for the General Practice, Corporate Specialist and VAT routes at Tolley Tax Training in London. Dean is also the principal tutor for AIIT training at Tolley Tax Training.
